-lency's letter of 27th. instant.

With deference, I would suggest that the question of the position of the Registrar of the Supreme Court is hardly ripe for submission to the Secretary of State, an I am by no means clear whether the views of the Government upon the question are still those contained in Your Excellency's letter of 21st. March, as modified by the first paragraph of Your Excellency's letter of 13th. May: or whether any further modification has been made in consequence of the expressions used by Sir M. Nathan to me in the last clause of paragraph 2 of his letter to me of 26th. June, 1905, and answered in para- -graph 2 of my latter to Sir M. Nathan of 6th. July, 1905, to which letter I have drawn Your Excellency's attention. I suggest that it would be convenient for me to know exactly what the question is which is to be submitted to the Secretary of State.

The same remark applies to Your Excellency's letter of 6th. April with reference to the question of the Official Receiver in Bankruptcy.

In the meantime in order to complete the dossier, I enclose a copy of minutes which passed between my- -self and Mr. Seth in which he informed me that certain informa- -tion which he had given me should have been 'without prejudice' This has been referred to in some of my letters.

I much regret to be compelled to conclude from the absence of any reference to the subject in the letter
